You started your business, but now you need help with business forms or contracts. Where do you go? Keep reading because this month’s featured female entrepreneur is here to help you avoid messy legal situations.

The world of legalese

If you’re like most people, legal mumbo jumbo makes you want to run for the hills but, … hold up! You can’t…, sorry. You have to protect your business and yourself from getting into legal hot waters. In this post you will meet someone who can help avoid problems if you’re running any type of small business.

The woman

Your saving grace may be Danielle Liss, owner of Businessese, who is an attorney specialized in running small businesses. From her own experience, to working with other small business owners, she can be THE woman you need. First time I heard about her was on Amy Porterfield’s podcast and all I could think was: finally a solution for virtual businesses!

Danielle is one smart woman who graduated with high honors twice, not an easy feat. She worked in the corporate world in the field of internet marketing and contracts for influencers. She founded Businessese and Hash-Tag Legal, which focuses on social media law where she applied her legal knowledge.

The Motivation

Knowing how hard it can be to run a business, Danielle’s purpose is to make running a small business easier for you, taking away the pressure of reading the fine print or understanding legalese, by providing solutions for necessary business documents.

The Opportunities

If you’ve tried to find a local attorney who can provide guidance with online small businesses, let me know cause I couldn’t.

Traditional attorneys usually only know how to work with brick and mortar businesses, but that’s no surprise because I had a hard finding someone at the business license office to provide info about the type of license I needed to sell products online!

It’s a great relieve that there are other options to cover your legal bases when running an online business.

The Purpose

According to the dictionary “businessese” is the language use of the world of business. The main goal of Businessese is to make it easier for women like you to run a small business. This will allow you to concentrate on doing what’s best for you or your business, instead of administrative headaches. Just to be clear, Danielle does not provide legal services, but more assistance with legal contracts and forms.

The Present

Besides running Businessese, Danielle founded Hash-Tag Legal with her friend Jamie Lieberman. She decided to part ways in 2019 to get a better balance in personal and business life while following her own dreams. You can listen to the podcast where she announces the one who says goodbye and read her new blog posts.

The Quote

Her favorite compliment:

You’re the least lawyer-y lawyer I’ve ever met!

The Source

Although she is no longer producing podcasts, you can still find episodes of the Influencer Marketing podcast on the website.
